Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)s - Ankeny and GlenwoodOur workforce includes a diversified and flexible group of CNA's who are responsible for providing direct care to persons served under licensed nurse supervision, assisting persons served in attaining the highest quality of life, and treating each person with dignity and respect while following established facility policies and procedures. Care of persons served is coordinated with other members of the rehabilitation team.
Qualified applicants must possess active status on the State of Iowa CNA Registry.
Supported Community Living Specialist (SCLS) - Ankeny
The Supported Community Living Specialist is responsible for providing direct assistance to persons served to help them gain information and maximize their daily living skills in a variety of areas, such as caring for themselves, making purchases, accessing transportation, keeping appointments, advocating for themselves, and interacting in their community. Instructive services are provided on-site in the person served's place of residence and in various sites throughout the community. The Supported Community Living Specialist maintains regular contact with the person served's Case Manager. Additionally, the provision of personal assistance provides the SCLS an opportunity to identify ongoing training needs for the person served.
An Associate of Arts degree in the human services field, along with at least one year of experience in the human services area is required, as well as an Iowa Class D3 Chauffeurs License and the ability to safely operate a vehicle and maintain auto insurance.
Ankeny
We have opportunities in the in-patient program and are currently expanding our program to include an out-patient therapy program. Full time, part time and PRN positions are available.
New graduates will be considered, with preference given to applicants with interest or experience in neuro.
A portion of each position's functions follows:
Speech and Language Pathologist: The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for the comprehensive provision of clinical communication, speech, language, cognitive and swallowing services to individuals with brain injury and/or other neurological disabilities. Complete assessment and intervention plans are designed for each person served to achieve maximum functioning.
A Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited program is required. Two to three years of clinical experience in rehabilitation of persons with brain injury or other neurological disorders is preferred. Must maintain ASHA certification with a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence or progression. Must have a valid Iowa Speech Pathology License. Must be able to obtain or currently have a valid Iowa Class D3 Chauffeurs license. Must maintain Heart Saver PR certification.
Occupational Therapist: The Occupational Therapist provides advanced professional occupational therapy work involving the assessment of motor function, neurodevelopmental, perceptual, and/or personal-social development and treatment of persons with brain injury or other neurological disabilities. Complete assessment and intervention plans are designed for each person served to achieve maximum functioning.
A Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required. Two-to-three years of clinical experience in rehabilitation of persons with brain injury or other neurological disorders is preferred. Must have a valid Iowa Occupational Therapist license. Must be able to obtain or currently have a valid Iowa Class D3 Chauffeurs license. Must maintain Heart Saver CPR certification.
Physical Therapist: The Physical Therapist is responsible for the comprehensive provision of advanced physical therapy work involving assessment of motor function, positioning, mobility skills, wound care, neuro development, perceptual and/or personal social development and treatment of persons with brain injury or other neurological disorders. Complete assessment and intervention plans are designed for each persons served to achieve maximum functioning.
A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required. Two-to-three years of clinical experience in rehabilitation of persons with brain injury or other neurological disorders preferred. Must have a valid Iowa Physical Therapist license. Must be able to obtain or currently have a valid Iowa Class D3 Chauffeurs license. Must maintain Heart Saver CPR certification.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA): Under the direction of the Occupational Therapists, the COTA provides professional occupational therapy services to persons with brain injury. The COTA provides direct treatment in the areas of independent living/daily living skills, sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills and participates as a member of the team in reviewing and recommending modifications to the rehabilitation plan of the clients. Qualifications: A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Iowa Occupational Therapy Assistant License. Must be able to obtain or currently have a valid Iowa chauffeurs/class D3 driver's license. Maintain Heart Saver CPR certification.
Physical Therapist Assistant: Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides professional physical therapy services to person with brain injury. The PTA provides direct treatment to persons served in the areas of cognitive, psychosocial, mobility, positioning, and motor function. He/she also participates as a member of the team in reviewing and recommending modifications to the rehabilitation plan of the persons served. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited program, one-to-two years of clinical experience in rehabilitation of persons with brain injury or other neurological disorders preferred. Must have a valid Iowa Physical Therapist Assistant license. Must be able to obtain or currently have a valid Iowa Class D3 Chauffeurs license. Maintain Heart Saver CPR certification.
Registered Nurse, Part Time: Our nursing team provides quality nursing care to the persons we are privileged to serve, and assists On With Life in meeting its Mission. Nurses develop working relationships with other staff, and with families of persons served, by using good judgment, discretion, and excellent communication.
Nurses complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision, demonstrate proper initiative, perseverance and task prioritization, and provide effective work guidance to those supervised. On With Life desires all staff to work as a team to enhance the services rovided to persons affected by brain injury.
Glenwood
