Danyail Sathern, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at On With Life's Long-Term Program for Youth and Younger Adults in Glenwood, Iowa, has been named as an Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation scholarship recipient. Steve Ackerson, IHCA President/CEO, presented Sathern with the Foundation’s $1,000 Memorial Scholarship for her outstanding commitment to providing long term services and support to the individuals she serves at On With Life.
Sathern has worked at On With Life's Glenwood campus, a long-term skilled care facility specializing in brain injuries, for almost seven years and truly enjoys her profession as a CNA there.
“One of the most rewarding feelings is changing a life,” said Sathern in her nomination essay. “I get to leave after every shift knowing that in some way I have improved a life. I wouldn’t trade this field of work for anything.”
Dick Achenbach, On With Life Administrator, speaks highly of Sathern’s commitment. “Danyail is a very dedicated employee,” said Achenbach. “She is always willing to help others and ensures our residents are very well taken care of.”
Upon completing her registered nursing (RN) degree through Southwestern Community College, Sathern plans to continue her career at On With Life as it has a special place in her heart.
