The On With Life Long-Term Skilled Care program in Glenwood, Iowa is fortunate to be a host site for six seminarians again this summer. As part of their Priestly Formation Program at Creighton University, these young men spend several weeks ministering to care centers in the Omaha area where they are able to focus on spiritual formation. During their time at On With Life the men will be assisting in a variety of tasks including small group sessions with persons served, activities in the sensory gym, baking, karaoke, games, and individual prayer with our persons served. After they complete their Masters in Divinity Program, they will return to their home diocese and become ordained priests.
"The seminary has shown me the goodness in people wherever I go," said Andrew Kinstetter, Diocese of Cheyenne. "I came to On With Life expecting to be a minister, I didn't expect being ministered to. The persons served affirm me in ways I never expected."
Matt Grossi, Diocese of Providence stated, "My favorite part has been being able to grow closer to God and develop a prayer life. God is showing me how I can serve people through Him." Declan Cullen, Archdiocese of Philadelphia added, "The value of work is evident and proves to be the employee's vocation."
The Long-Term Skilled Care program is incredibly thankful for all the seminarians do. It continues to be a blessing and personal experience for all involved.
