On With Life is a non-profit organization that began as the dream of a dedicated, passionate group of survivors and their families. It is only because of the generosity of this group, and the generosity of many others, that On With Life exists today. We continue to be thankful for the many individuals and organizations throughout Iowa and beyond that have helped us continue to provide exceptional brain injury rehabilitation services.

The On With Life Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was established in 1992 to ensure that each person served has the equipment, services, and environment necessary to maximize their rehabilitation potential. We know that by providing compassionate, dignified care for each person served, we build an atmosphere of confidence and trust that allows everyone who is part of the program to get "On With Life."

Through the generosity of its donors, the On With Life Foundation is able to improve the lives of others. When you donate, you have the satisfaction that comes from knowing you've made a difference in the lives of others. Contributions to On With Life are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Examples of what donations provided include:

  • Specialized wheelchairs with a customized seating system and headrest that provides ideal positioning and maximizes a person's ability to participate in rehabilitation programming.
  • A mini-bus for use in transporting persons served.
  • Furnishing our sensory stimulation gyms, areas designed to maximize each individual's comfort and ability to respond to stimuli.
  • Augmentative communication devices, such as our computerized eye blink system, that allow persons served to express their needs and interests through the use of technology that provides synthesized voicing.
  • Electronic lift transfers that promote the safety of the persons served and protect staff members in frequent bed-to-wheelchair transfers.
  • Comfort items such as blanket warmers that enhance the rehabilitation experience for individuals whose bodies are not able to adequately regulate their temperatures.
  • Special events and unique therapy sessions for our persons served, including birthday parties, art sessions, massage therapy and community outings.
  • Support for families of those we serve through meal, transportation and housing assistance.
