Congratulations to Carla Dippold, director of case management, who was named one of “100 Great Iowa Nurses!”
Carla has been a nurse since 1983. She has served as a nurse case manager for nearly three decades and has spent her career moving beyond the “traditional” nursing mold. Her expertise spans the entire rehabilitation continuum, from therapy to psychology and from leadership to case management. Her influence has widely impacted several generations of new nurses, as she sets an example of how a nurse case manager can not only impact the way services are delivered, but also improve access to the essential services.
Those who have worked with Carla are touched by her dedication, her calm demeanor, her ability to handle tough situations with grace, her wide range of knowledge, and her very practical and functional approach to securing the most appropriate, timely and beneficial services to meet individual needs. One colleague said, “It has been a privilege to have Carla as a resource and mentor.”
This award recognizes nurses for making a lasting contribution to healthcare, as well as being viewed as a mentor to others. Nominations were evaluated by representatives from the Iowa Hospital Association, Iowa Nurses Association, Iowa Nurses Foundation and University of Iowa College of Nursing. Carla will officially be recognized at their award ceremony in May. Congratulations, Carla!
