Read more from those who have stayed in the homes –

No one wants to find themselves with a loss of ability. In March I had a brain injury, an extensive injury that resulted in a one-month acute hospital stay and inpatient therapy, followed by two months of home care. I then needed specialized neuro therapy but after making the long trip to On With Life’s outpatient clinic in Ankeny, I was unable to function during my sessions.

On With Life offered me the family house so that I could function during therapy, without the burden of expense on me or my family. On With Life has my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and hospitality I received during my stay. Their kindness and professionalism has made a significant difference during a challenging time for me, and has allowed me to take my life back. I would have never been able to recover this much without the ability to stay in their family house.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and compassion. The accommodations were comfortable, and the environment was peaceful, which greatly contributed to my recovery. The attention to detail and the support provided by the On With Life team was truly remarkable.

I deeply appreciate On With Life and their supporter’s dedication to providing a safe, nurturing environment. I will always remember the positive impact you had on my journey to better health.”

The family home is beautiful! I was able to stay there for the full four weeks that my husband was a person served in On With Life’s inpatient program. It’s so nice to be able to be close to your loved one during their rehabilitation. It was so convenient – I loved that I could be there for him but still easily run back to the home for my own downtime, to throw in a load of laundry, etc. I had a nice large bedroom and big bathroom, plus the community spaces. We would use the house a lot when other family members came to visit – we even enjoyed our family Thanksgiving meal there!

I appreciated that I didn’t have to worry about the wear and tear of commuting back and forth or stress over if the weather would impact my ability to be there. I even made friends with the others who were staying in the home, We often would spend our mornings together – it’s nice to know you are not the only ones in this tough situation. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience!”

The family house has been so comfortable. My wife and I live in Wyoming and are staying here while our daughter is in On With Life’s inpatient program. We love that it is quiet and accessible – the large shower with grab bars has been a highlight. We also love to cook so we have utilized the kitchen quite a bit, making meals for us, our daughter, and even On With Life staff members. It really has felt like home.
