Rehabilitation Nursing

As a rehabilitation center, we have an incredibly strong nursing staff to person served ratio. The level of care we provide is one of, if not the highest number of nursing hours per person served in any skilled facility in Iowa.

Rehabilitation Nursing

Ankeny's skilled rehabilitation nursing team understands the essential role quality care plays in earning the trust of persons served and their families. Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN's) and Certified Nursing Assistants trained in rehabilitation, provide a wide range of specialized services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - to meet the complex medical and emotional needs of individuals with brain injury. The nursing team helps individuals remain medically stable so they can fully participate and benefit from intensive clinical intervention. Persons served and their families receive ongoing education from the rehabilitation nursing staff regarding brain injury and complicating medical issues to help them regain control of their lives.

Quality Care Coordinators

The On With Life Quality Care Coordinators are an essential part of the rehabilitation we provide. Our care coordinators work hand-in-hand with the person served and their family to coordinate their cares, including communication with the interdisciplinary team, nursing staff, and On With Life physicians. Care coordinators will assist with:

  • Arranging consultations with physician specialists
  • Coordinating nursing care and physician follow-up post discharge
  • Overseeing the care of each person served in adherence to their plan of care

Nurse Evaluators

The On With Life nurse evaluators are an integral part of the inpatient program. After we receive a referral, our nurse evaluators will immediately organize a time to visit with the patient and their family to evaluate the possibility of a referral to our program. Our nurse evaluators pride themselves on their ability to meet with each referral in-person and to discuss any questions the family may have.
