We’re excited that you’re interested in working at On With Life! Below are a few commonly asked questions regarding employment and the hiring process.

What’s required to be hired at On With Life?

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications for the position, all employees must successfully complete the following pre-hire requirements:

  • Criminal, fraud and abuse background screening
  • Physical, lift test (if applicable to the position) and drug screen
  • TB screening

What hours/shifts are available for your programs?

Our Inpatient Skilled Nursing programs in Ankeny and Glenwood and our Residential Neuro Rehabilitation program in Des Moines are 24/7. Our Outpatient Therapy program in Ankeny operates approximately 8a – 6p Monday thru Thursday and 8a – 4:30p on Fridays. Our Supported Community Living program in Central Iowa operates approximately 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday with periodic weekend services.

When do benefits start?

Medical, dental and vision benefits are available to full-time employees starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment. 401k eligibility is the first of the month after three full months of employment; employees are eligible for an employer match based on their own personal contribution. Other benefits have eligibility dates between approximately 90 days and 1 year of employment.

Can I fill out a paper application?

We prefer that all applicants use the online system; however, you may stop in to any of our locations between 8:30a – 4p to request a paper application.
