Neuropsychological Services
On With Life offers neuropsychological evaluation and consultation services on an outpatient basis for people living with a brain injury or other central nervous system dysfunction. Through the process of neuropsychological evaluation, a neuropsychologist studies brain-behavior interactions, the health of the individual's brain, and the problems that brain dysfunction can cause.

Our neuropsychologists’ goal is to help individuals/families and the referring provider answer questions pertaining to the condition of the individual’s brain, the presenting strengths and difficulties and indicated treatment options and recommendations.

Evaluations

Dr. David Demarest uses scientific techniques to determine preexisting characteristics of the individual and provide an index of the extent and type of changes brought about by the injury or condition.

An assessment of this type documents the patient’s functional strengths and weaknesses and an evaluation is made regarding:

  • Deficiencies caused by brain damage versus preexisting cognitive weaknesses
  • Strengths in cognitive and psychosocial skills
  • Comprehensive diagnostic understanding of the biopsychosocial impact of the injury
  • Extent of the brain injury and prognosis for recovery
  • The specific course of action needed for best therapy planning
  • Predictions and recommendations for independence in work, school, and home
We Empower Hope.

“We recently we sent a referral for a little one for possible Autism, and were really impressed with how the evaluation went. The mother had nothing but nice things to say, and she appreciated the time spent to have questions answered. Our clinicians read the report, and we were also super impressed with the write-up. It was clear that Dr. Demarest read our notes, considered our thoughts, and offered his clinical opinion. We appreciated that he was thorough in his evaluation by the time spent with the family; as well as the multiple settings he assessed. We would feel very comfortable referring to him again!”
