Honoring Luke
The July 2000 Playgroup Moms are sponsoring an effort to honor their dear friend and her son, Lucas David Sigler, by supporting On With Life, a place that provided invaluable support and meant so much to Luke and his family.
We are a group of mothers all over the world who met online when we were pregnant and all due in July of 2000. We consider Luke “one of ours” and have had the privilege and joy of watching him grow from an adorable infant into a happy child and wonderful young man that never lost his faith or courage despite the challenges he had to face while fighting brain cancer. On With Life provided him with the support that enabled him to maintain a quality of life and level of independence that he could not have achieved otherwise. His therapists became family and were instrumental in giving him that gift of independence that allowed him to continue to “get on with his life” and be able to live it freely and enjoyable while facing these medical challenges.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 for artwork such as a mural and art therapy support. Luke was an artist and his therapists used that as a source of motivation and inspiration for his therapy – creating art was therapeutic and provided occupational therapy as well as emotional support. Our wish is to honor Luke and give back to On With Life and the families they serve by giving them the gift of art.
