You're invited to join us for an adaptive cycling clinic at On With Life on July 10! We are excited to be partnering with Connecticut Yankee Pedaller to bring a Spokes Fighting Strokes adaptive cycling clinic to our Ankeny campus.
These adaptive cycling clinics were started by Dan Zimmerman, who suffered a stroke in 2005. In 2008 he discovered a passion for recumbent cycling, which not only improved his health and mobility, it helped redefine his sense of purpose. He began to tour the country with a trailer full of adaptive bike equipment, sharing his story and encouraging others to find a way to be able to ride.
Dan brought the Spokes Fighting Stokes clinic to On With Life last year, where several persons served with varying diagnoses and needs were able to ride around the grounds on adaptive bikes. This year, we are excited to extend this invitation to the community! There will be a variety of adaptive bicycles and equipment available to trial between 9 am and 1 pm on Thursday, July 10. We encourage you to stop by, try a bike, and connect with the inspiring individuals whose passion made this possible!
If you are interested in attending, please let us know by filling out this form so we have an idea of how many people to expect. We hope to see you there!
