On With Life – New Horizons Partnership Official as of July 1, 2024

Ankeny, IA. – On With Life board members and leadership are happy to announce the finalization of the partnership between two long-standing organizations. Now called “On With Life at New Horizons Center,” On With Life has officially expanded its continuum of care – meeting the need of many in the community.

“As a long-time board member and supporter of New Horizons, the partnership was great fit for On With Life – and we’re excited to continue offering important programming to these individuals – and with our combined resources, to even more in the future,” said Pat Stilwill, Executive Director of Programs and Services at On With Life.

New day programming and recreational therapy will be available to those who visit On With Life at New Horizons Center, and include exercise, arts and crafts, pet and music therapy, interactive and cognitive games, dance and movement and various community outings. Recreation Therapy coordinators will treat and help maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of persons served by helping to reduce depression, stress, and anxiety, recover or maintain basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities, build confidence, and socialize effectively.

“The team here has been incredible, and though the transition took a lot of time and hard work – our persons served and their programming never skipped a beat, they were always the priority, and I’m very grateful for that,” said newly appointed Director of Community Services, Samantha Braune. Samantha brings many years of leadership experience in various areas of community service programming at On With Life, and will run and manage day-to-day operations at the new facility.

We also invite you to join us for the official open house and celebration event for this new program, taking place from 4 - 6 pm on Wednesday, August 21! Stop by for a drink, appetizers and tour of the facility. An official ribbon cutting with the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce will take place at 4:30 pm.
