Giving Back

The On With Life Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was established in 1993 to ensure that each person served has the specialized equipment, innovative services, compassionate staff and supportive environment necessary to achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. Because of donor generosity, individuals and families experience expert care, hope and opportunity. When you give, you directly impact the lives of those On With Life serves.

Another great way to give back is by volunteering! On With Life welcomes volunteers, both individuals and groups, at our Ankeny, Polk City, Coralville and New Horizons Center campuses. Learn more about how you can get involved below.

Ways to Give

Thank you for your interest in making a donation to the On With Life Foundation. Through the generosity of donors, the Foundation’s objective is to ensure our persons served have the equipment, services, environment and other resources necessary to succeed. The following donation options are provided to ensure your gift supports this goal as well as your personal philanthropic goal.

On With Life Empower Hope Fund

Contributions directed to the Empower Hope Fund help to make possible a rehabilitation experience like no other, where passionate service, relentless advocating and life-enriching opportunities are emphasized. These gifts provide flexible, unrestricted dollars to support and enhance the On With Life mission. If mailing a check, please make payable to On With Life Foundation and send to 715 SW Ankeny Rd, Ankeny, IA 50023. The Empower Hope Fund will support things such as program needs, specialized equipment and family support . Specifically, these funds will impact the following and more:

  • Enrichment of On With Life rehabilitation programs, by offering persons served celebrations and outings and improving the well-being of persons served with environment and program enhancements
  • Rehabilitation equipment, which ensures persons served have the most effective tools for individualized and complex therapy
  • Compassion support, which offers families of those we serve assistance with lodging, transportation and meal expenses as needed
Circle of Life Society

While each gift to the Empower Hope Fund is significant and appreciated, individual donors who contribute $1,000 or more from January 1 through December 31 will receive membership into the Circle of Life Society, which offers special recognition and benefits. 

Honor/Memorial Gift

Make a gift in honor or memory of your loved one through a gift to the On With Life Foundation. To send an honor/memorial donation, fill out the online donation form or send a check (made payable to On With Life Foundation) via mail to the address below. Indicate the name of the person you would like to honor and the name(s) and address(es) you would like notified of your gift.

Planned/Future Gift

A simple and versatile way to ensure we can continue our support of those living with brain injury and other neurological conditions is a gift in your will, known as a charitable bequest. By including a bequest to On With Life in your will or living trust, you are ensuring that we can continue our mission for years to come. If you include the Foundation in your plans, please use our legal name (On With Life Foundation) and our federal tax ID (42-1399777). Your contribution, unless anonymous, will name you as a member of the Legacy Society. On With Life Endowment Fund

By donating to the On With Life Endow Iowa Fund, a permanently endowed fund where periodic contributions are received by the Foundation, you are eligible to receive a 25% Iowa tax credit in addition to the federal tax deduction. Tax credits are offered on a first come, first served basis, with approximately $6 million available annually statewide. Contact foundation@onwithlife.org for information on how to facilitate a gift to the On With Life Endow Iowa Fund and apply for the tax credit. 

Matching Gifts
Many organizations offer matching gift programs that will double (or more!) a donation’s value. Check with your company to find out if it will match your donation to On With Life. If you have questions about your company’s matching gift program, please contact your human resource department.
Amazon Gift List

For an easy way to support On With Life, consider purchasing an item from one of our Amazon Gift Lists. Giving from a gift list is a great way to donate a specific and needed item. We will update our lists quarterly, depending on the needs of On With Life and those we serve. Items can be purchased directly from Amazon and conveniently shipped right to On With Life.

On With Life collects a variety of medical equipment and therapy items to be used for persons served across all programs. If you have an item you would like to donate, please visit our In-Kind Donations page to view a list of needed items and schedule a time for drop off.
