On With Life Receives State Funding for Expansion Project
On With Life has received a significant state funding commitment for an expansion project at their Long-Term Skilled Care facility in Polk City pending governor signature. This investment marks an important step toward increasing access to specialized care for younger adults with complex neurological conditions in Iowa.
While ChildServe addresses the needs for complex medical care and ventilator support for children and young adults, Iowa faces a shortage of beds for individuals over the age of 30. To bridge this gap, On With Life and ChildServe have been working together to secure funding and support for an expansion at On With Life. This project will add 25 beds to its current Long-Term Skilled Care program, a portion of which will be outfitted for ventilator support.
“We are so grateful to our state leaders for investing in this project,” said Jean Shelton, CEO of On With Life. “This expansion will change lives for families across Iowa. The state’s financial commitment is a massive step forward for healthcare in our community.”
