Meet the Speakers!

Dave Anders MS, CCC-Dave Anders HeadshotSLP, CBIST-AP is On With Life’s chief clinical officer and has been practicing as a speech-language pathologist in the field of brain injury rehabilitation since 1997. Dave has been a certified brain injury specialist since 2004 and also holds both ACBIS’ trainer and advanced practice designations. Dave sits on the boards of both the Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS) and the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa (BIAIA).  He has presented nationally and internationally on a wide range of topics related to acquired brain injury.

Megan Ihrke MA, CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist who has been practicing in the area of neurological rehabilitation with adolescent and adult populations since 2010, all of which has been at On With Life. She completed her bachelors and masters in speech-language pathology at the University of Iowa. Megan serves as a clinical team lead at On With Life in Ankeny. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer and also maintains MANDT certification for management of neurobehavioral challenges. Megan provides assessment and treatment in the areas of neurogenic swallowing, speech production, expressive and receptive language, and cognitive-linguistic skills in a transdisciplinary approach providing individual, co-treatment, and group therapy for individuals who are survivors of acquired brain injury.

Maren Tuttle MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS is a speech-languageMaren Tuttle Headshot pathologist at the On With Life outpatient clinic, in Ankeny, IA. She graduated with her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa and her graduate degree from the University of Central Missouri. She is certified in LSVT LOUD and CBIS. She was also involved in the the Fiberoptic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) training that was provided in the spring of 2023. She has been actively involved in working with the Parkinson's disease population in the areas of cognition, voice, and swallowing. She is passionate on providing education to person-served and family members about Parkinson's disease and its impacts.

Bob Gray served 30 years with the Arlington County Fire Department, rising from Firefighter/Paramedic to Battalion Chief. He led the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) program and a technical rescue team, deploying to incidents like the LaPlata tornado, Hurricane Katrina, and the Pentagon on 9/11. Bob developed the department's Trauma Immunization program, crucial for members responding to 9/11. After retirement, a fall caused a severe traumatic brain injury, requiring extensive recovery. In 2024, he published "Shoring Up Ourselves," and now speaks to first responders and military personnel about emotional preparedness, coping with trauma, and seeking help, aiming to improve understanding of behavioral health and PTSD.

Abi Fortsch, M.A., CCC-SLP, CBIS is a skilled neuro-based speech language pathologist who has been at On With Life since 2019. She has special interests in disorders of consciousness, manual therapy for swallowing and cognitive support for spinal cord injury patients. She is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for her clients through innovative therapeutic approaches tailored to their specific needs.

Matthew Poots Matthew Poots Headshotis a skilled neuro-based physical therapist assistant who has worked at On With Life since 2021. He has special interests in disorders of consciousness, stroke rehabilitation, and neurobehavioral challenges.

He is passionate about improving the quality of life for persons served and providing them the resources they need for a successful discharge.

Hope Yates DPT has been a physical therapist at On With Life since 2022. She received her Bachelor of Kinesiology from Iowa State University, followed by her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Iowa.
